Information we collect
- Early-access details. We store the email address you submit, your queue position, the time of submission, and any optional work-type, priority, or product feedback you provide.
- Support messages. We receive your email address and anything you include when you contact us.
- Operational data. Our infrastructure processes the requested page, approximate country, browser or device class, timing, error details, and security signals used for rate limiting and bot protection.
- Your consent choice. A necessary cookie stores whether you accepted or refused optional analytics so we can remember your answer.
Joining early access and answering feedback questions are optional. The future ShapeFive product may need account, authentication, project, client, and file information to provide features you choose to use. We will update this policy before those practices begin if they differ materially from what is described here.
Analytics and recordings
Simple Analytics measures aggregate page views, referrers, campaign values, approximate country, device class, scroll depth, and time on page without cookies, local or session storage, IP-address retention, fingerprinting, or a persistent visitor identifier. We use it without an opt-in prompt because it does not identify visitors.
If you accept optional analytics, ShapeFive additionally creates random browser and session identifiers for first-party Cloudflare funnel events and measures page views, sections viewed, scroll depth, visible engagement time, outbound-link actions, early-access interactions, referral sources, approximate country, device class, and campaign values contained in the link you used.
Accepting also loads Hotjar. Hotjar helps us see clicks, taps, scrolling, screen size, browser details, approximate country, and where visitors encounter friction. It uses first-party cookies and browser storage to connect activity within and across visits.
We do not use Hotjar’s Identify API to send your signup email or feedback answers. Hotjar suppresses keyboard input by default. If you refuse, we do not create optional analytics identifiers, store first-party campaign attribution, send Cloudflare or Hotjar behavioral events, or load Hotjar. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat that as refusal and do not show the optional-analytics prompt or load Hotjar. Simple Analytics remains active for aggregate measurement because it does not identify or track a person, including when Do Not Track is enabled. The site’s core functions continue to work.
How we use information
- Provide what you request. We reserve early-access positions, respond to support requests, and operate features you choose to use.
- Keep the service dependable. We prevent abuse, diagnose failures, monitor performance, and protect the site.
- Improve ShapeFive. We use optional feedback and, only with consent, analytics to understand which parts of the experience need work.
- Meet legal obligations. We may retain or use records when required for legal, tax, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for optional analytics; performance of a requested service or steps you ask us to take; our legitimate interests in securing and maintaining ShapeFive; and legal obligations that apply to us. We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Retention, security, and location
We keep early-access information while the program is active and while we reasonably need it to contact participants, administer the list, resolve disputes, or meet legal duties. Analytics, security, and error records follow the limited retention configured with each provider. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to backups and records we must keep by law.
We use access controls, encrypted connections, provider-managed encryption at rest, rate limiting, bot protection, monitoring, and data minimization. No online system is perfectly secure, so we also limit what we collect and who can access it.
ShapeFive and its providers may process information outside your state or country. Where required, we use contractual or other lawful safeguards for international transfers.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you and provide a copy.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete information or restrict how it is used.
- Stop certain uses or provide information in a portable format.
- Review an appeal if we deny an eligible privacy request.
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using the controls near the top of this page. Withdrawal does not change processing that was lawful before it. We may request enough information to verify that a privacy request concerns you, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right. You may also complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.
Children
ShapeFive is a business service and is not directed to children. Do not submit personal information if you are not old enough to consent to its use under the law where you live.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our product, providers, or legal obligations change. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects how personal information is used.
